How is the fireproofing thermal barrier applied?

Thermal barrier fireproofing materials are applied to interior walls and ceilings of buildings over foam insulation. The products are spray applied as a pumpable slurry but dries to form a hard, durable surface that is damage resistant. After spray application, the thermal barrier can be lightly troweled for a smooth surface that can be painted and cleaned.
