Urecoat Inc. uses a 3 lb. density, closed-cell polyurethane foam when applying the SPF Roofing System to new or existing roofs.
The closed-cell structure of the foam yields a hard, rigid foam that chemically bonds to the substrate (new or existing roof deck). Due to its closed-cell properties, spray foam insulation has the highest R-value of approximately 6 per inch, the highest R-value of insulation in the industry. When sprayed at a minimum of 1.5 inches, closed-cell foam insulation acts as a vapour barrier in addition to thermal barrier.
See Spray Foam Roofing for more information on Urecoat’s SPF Roofing System.
